An early hard bound book published in Chicago, Illinois, designed for beginners of the craft, explaining the woods, tools and processes required to complete overlay and inlay projects. Included is a unique alphabet created with the human form, 11 scenes of people doing daily routines, children playing etc, and a few small picture frame projects. Advertisments for Trump Bros. Scroll Saws who were awarded The Centenial Prize Medal in 1876 for the exibition of their saw.

John Wilkinson Scroll Saw & Design Books Catalog
A unique catalog containing 64 pages, contains a short history of the John Wilkinson Company, publisher of the book Sorrento and Inlaid work by Arthur Hope. The Catalog contains 37 pages of woodworking tools, hand, and foot powered. The balance of the catalog is devoted to "Ware's" designs, of which most are suitable to be enlarged and traced.
